Hi, my name is Tuxedo and I'm the greatest, wiggliest, happiest guy I know! Because of my fancy name, sometimes it goes to my head and I'm a bit of "divo" (like when the grass is wet, sometimes I don't want to walk on it, yuck!), but aside from a few quirks like that, I'm the BEST dog ever!
I get along with everyone, canine, feline and human alike. Sometimes new things are a little strange and overwhelming for me, but I recover pretty quickly. I like to play, but am also content to lay around. I weigh about 55 pounds and am probably mixed with some kind of hound - my nose is always on the ground and I'm built a bit like a sight hound or sorts.
I do have some allergy issues that any future owner will need to be aware of and prepared to treat, probably forever. I'm just a sensitive kid, what can I say! You'll notice it when my eyes get red, my ears get itchy, or I get itchy all over and generally display signs of discomfort. Other than that, I'm healthy as a horse (speaking of horses, I like them too, especially their poop!).
If you have another pet, we would need to be fed separately, as I get a little testy around other animals around my food bowl (NEVER with people). I'm okay with other dogs getting treats around me, but my food bowl is my thing, so please feed me across the room from other pets.
Otherwise, I'm pretty much the greatest gentleman you'll ever meet. I'm up to date on my vaccines, neutered, potty trained and ready to go home with you! My adoption fee is $500 since I have been at the Prison Pet Partnership for over a year and got pretty far in my therapy dog training. I'm just too independently minded to have anyone safely depend on me in that capacity. So, adot me, and you'll get a healthy, very well trained kid ready to share my love for ever and ever!
