My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Leigh, and I am a 6-year-old purebred Akita. I am very friendly and well mannered, but like most Akitas, I'm not always a fan of new situations. So, when I first meet new people, I might act a bit shy, but give me just a few minutes, and I'll be friendly and waggy.

I also have a medical condition called "VKH" which is a fancy name for an auto-immune disease. Like many autoimmune diseases, they can be managed with a healthy lifestyle. I'm not taking any special medications and I don't require special food, just, of course, a good, high-quality food.

I might look a little different, but I'm truly a special soul. I'd love to be able to show you just how special I am.
