My name is Honesty!

Honesty is a 16 hand “somewhat” gaited stallion available for adoption at HSWC. Honesty is very responsive to kindness and gentleness. He is looking for someone to love on him, give him lots of attention and treats, and ride him regularly.

Honesty is around 18-19 years old, and appears to have a touch of draft in his lineage. He has beautiful manners and is very suited to light riding. Honesty really likes having a job to do. He has been well trained in his past and responds well to a light bit. He moves off the leg easily and knows his signals. He also neck reins and has performed perfectly under a western saddle.
Honesty is up-to-date on his shots, worming, and teeth. His feet have some problems, but have improved greatly over the past year, and with regular farrier attention will improve even further. Presently his primary equine veterinary care clinic is White Oak Veterinary Services in Flint Hill, VA. Honesty has some age- related medical issues, but they have been easily managed at HSWC. He has some arthritis in his back right hip area, and supplements help maintain his comfort. He is currently eating Southern States 12/6 pelleted feed and receives MSN for joints and Buteless solution for inflammation daily. He also receives a dose of BUTE mixed with probiotics once a week, which manages his discomfort completely.

Honesty is a stallion, and therefore should not be placed with or near mares. According to his doctor, other geldings should not be a problem after their initial introductions are made. He is friendly with donkeys, but is not fond of pigs.
