Mainly because we all work, it isn't always easy for us to get back to you timely,
so you can often miss out if your application is not in when we review them..
Your application stays with us for 90 days, so if you miss out on this one..

Chewbacca is a 13 lb. Shih Tzu boy who was surrendered by his owner
and taken to the shelter.
They surrendered him because he slept in the owners bed and
he was accidently kicked in the night, which caused him to react and bite.
With that said, he has a bite history and the shelter had placed him
on the Euthenasa list.
Since we have had Chewbacca in the foster home, we noticed these
"good and bad" behaviors:
He has not had much training when it comes to verbal commands (sit/stay etc.)
Very trainable, but he is stubborn and will push boundaries.
Chewbacca does great with other dogs in the foster home.
He is housebroken, and crate trained.
He has nasty allergies, which make him feel miserable. (allergy shot given).
Loves going for rides and going for walks (again training for heel/wait etc
are things he wasn't trained with..but we are working on).
Loves his people, and is a real lover boy.
He has not been kid tested, so best to be in a home with
10 yrs + if any kids are around.
LOVES playing fetch.
Not real big on being picked up, and sometimes will
growl if you try. He is getting better with that too...but learning its ok.
He is A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E
So with all that being said, we feel that the best home for him
would be someone that doesn't have small kids (that could possibly
kick him accidently, and someone that has patience and are willing to
take the time to train him (you being the alpha), but yet
loveable so he knows your kind hand and heart.
If you are a trainer and know how to work with Chewbacca OR
you are willing to get a expert (trainer), to be taught and to learn techniques on how
to work with him so you will have the BEST boy because of it!
We also wouldn't want him accidently kicked again when he is asleep,
so we want a family that will not allow him to sleep
with you, but instead put his bed / crate next to your bed or couch.
Someone willing to get quarterly (or 2Xs anually/depending on his needs),
cytopoint injections for his allergies..
When his allergies flare up he has a runny nose and this drainage
goes into his stomach and he is miserable.
This handsome boy is current on his immunization shots, neutered,
Bordetella, Rabies shot, and microchipped.
Chewbacca's adoption fee is set at $275.00.
