Here's what the humans have to say about me:
SWAMPY is a 1-year-old neutered male yellow lab. SWAMPY weighs 39 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.
DESCRIPTION: SWAMPY is a petite and very sweet and loving boy. When he entered the shelter, he weighed only 27 lbs! He's already gained about 12 lbs., but still needs to gain more. He gets along fine with other resident dogs and ignores the cats. He has typical puppy energy, but is not hyper (at least not ALL the time!). He's crate trained and walks pretty well on a leash, but better on an EZ walk harness. Swampy's favorite thing is to play, play, play! He likes to chase the tennis ball and chew on bones. He is food motivated and will sit for treats, which will be an asset with his training. He does not chew on anything he shouldn't and has been left uncrated overnight. He is sensitive to strange noises and will bark to let you know he's concerned. Swampy prefers not to have other dogs near him while he is eating, so he should either be the only dog in the home or should work with trainer to understand that his food is not scarce and he doesn't have to guard it anymore! With his humans, he is an absolute doll. Swampy loves being close to people, loves ear scratches and belly rubs, and will be a great pet for an active person or family. Swampy would love nothing more than to be adopted by Christmas and make him and a family very merry!
