My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jada is just the sweetest girl! This beautiful dog showed up at our shelter in February 2019 as a stray. While we hoped someone would come looking for her, no one ever did. At Jada's intake exam, we sadly discovered that she was heartworm positive and would require treatment. Jada has been undergoing the "slow kill" method of treatment for over a year while learning a lot in our FIDO prison program. She hopes to be heartworm free very soon. Jada does have some bladder issues and needs a daily medication to help with it. She can be a little shy meeting new people and takes some time to warm up, so because of this she would be best in a home without small children. Jada can picky with her canine friends and prefers a home without cats. This gorgeous gal is hoping that her new family will come soon and show her what it's like to be a valued family pet!

Jada is a member of our FIDO prison program. FIDO dogs are obedience trained and socialized by the prison inmates. The $250 adoption fee covers spay/neuter, vaccinations, de-worming, microchip, and heart worm test (and current with monthly preventative). They are house trained, crate trained, and know their 5 basic commands. If interested in meeting a FIDO dog, please fill out an application online at: inapl.org/adoption-application. Once it's processed, a member of our team will be contact with you.
