Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sawyer is a beautiful black tri male Australian shepherd with a few freckles on his nose. He is just shy of 2 years old and about 45 lbs.
Sawyer is a happy, happy boy who loves to play. He is a typical velcro Aussie and wants to know where his people are at all times. He is medium energy with an active home but can also chill on the couch for movie night.
Sawyer does have a bit of prey drive for bunnies and squirrels, so we’re not sure how cats or small children might fare. He is a hugger. Yes, he will jump on you and squeeze his legs together to hold on. His foster home is working on a command so this doesn’t become an undesirable behavior.
Sawyer is house trained and crate trained. He also happens to be a bit of a counter surfer. Again, this is something his foster home is working on as we do not want to encourage this type of unwanted behavior. He is working on basic obedience and manners, which is something his adopter must be willing to continue.
Given Sawyer’s size and excitability, we do not recommend a home with small children. Children above 10 years old are a must. A fenced yard is recommended. Sawyer is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations and on monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Monthly preventatives are a requirement to be considered for adoption.
Sawyer is being fostered in Griffith, Indiana.
