Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Banjo (aka Bondi) von Berkoth is an adorable, smaller sized (37 lbs) 3 year old mix of cuteness. As a proud member of the herding/cattle dog family, he’s seeking an owner who is familiar with the associated behavior traits. He'll do best in an adult home without a lot of visitors. Banjo is a calm guy with a cute prance to his gait. He’ll happily climb into your lap to earn some petting. With a list of commands he’s already mastered, he is housetrained, crate-trained and has had obedience and leash training, too. A good boy in the car, inside the house and the yard, Banjo likes to spend his time indoors. Friendly with other calm dogs, in his playgroups he explores the yard and mingles with his pals.

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
