Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Introducing the lovable bulldozer himself, Summit. For Summit, what you see is what you get. Not only is his striking and muscular exterior captivating, so his is interior. He is the sweetest boy, looking forward to life after the shelter. Summit has quickly escalated to one of the more popular pups here at the shelter, as he absolutely loves playgroup and socializing with other dogs of any size. The handsome boy is indeed a cuddler, and his loyalty knows no bounds. Once trust is established, you won't be able to get him off of you! If you're looking for a solid companion with an immeasurable amount of love to share, without a doubt Summit is your guy.

More about this shelter
The South Suburban Humane Society is a 501(c )(3) organization that was started in 1970, serving the animal welfare needs of the entire south suburbs of Chicago. In the beginning, we handled all rescues, adoptions and provided foster care out of private homes. Since November 1973, our organization has been operating a 10,000 square foot open-door animal shelter in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
For over fifty years, our organization has helped tens of thousands of animals. We offer extensive outreach programs including humane education, and community outreach events. We also operate a resale shop located in Steger, Illinois that promotes our organization, our animals and provide much needed income to support our humane work.
The Mission of the South Suburban Humane Society is to protect and promote the well being of pets and their people in our community and beyond.
