Tobias is a 4 year-old Pitbull mix who weighs 56 lbs! Tobias is a lovable guy who can`t wait to be your new best friend. He is an energetic boy who loves to run around the yard chasing toys or playing fetch with his people. Once he knows you he can`t wait to smother you with kisses. Tobias is also quite goofy and is ready to make you laugh. Tobias has lived with dogs in the past and shows potential to live in a home with dogs if they`re a good match. Tobias has done great around young kids in the past, but due to his energy he needs a slow introduction if he were to live with younger kids in his forever home.

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.
We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.
Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter
Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
