Meet Karma! Karma is a female, almost 4-year-old, Siberian Husky. She is 54 pounds.

Karma arrived at the shelter as a stray. This girl is a goofy, entertaining, attentive, sweetheart! She loves everyone that she meets. She is very attentive and talkative. She LOVES treats! Training will be fun and rewarding with her.

Karma will need an indoor home and a secure, `husky-proof` containment area to stay safe from wandering. Staff can give you lots of ideas on how to secure your yard. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. Karma has shown friendly interest in other dogs at the shelter, but we do always recommend a staff-assisted meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along. We do not know how she would do with cats.

Karma is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, spayed, and ready to go home today!

Our adoption process is very simple. We do not hold animals, they are available to the first-come, first-serve qualified individual or family.

Adoption fees vary from $25-$500, with adoption specials lowering those fees at times by up to half.

We accept cash or credit.

All dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Go meet their pets

Meet our pets in the shelter Monday through Friday by appointment only, 10 am until 6 pm. Closed on Saturdays and Sundays due to low-staffing.

More about this shelter

West Valley Humane Society is an open-admission animal shelter in Southern Idaho. Serving all of Canyon County, and surrounding areas. We take in the stray, surrendered, abandoned, neglected animals in our community. In 2017, we took in 7,778 animals. We believe that every animal deserves a second chance.

We contract with the cities of Nampa, Caldwell and Canyon County to house stray and owner surrender animals that their ACO's, or the general public, bring to us.
