Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Ava is a 13ish-year old sweetheart who enjoys being close to people. She is the prime example of a close proximity cat. You can find her hanging out in a ray of sunshine, snoozing on the couch, or following you around for company. She is known to greet her human at the door, ready for scratches on her head, chin, or bottom. She’s very affectionate, but let her come to you. Once she trusts you she will let you pick her up or even gently rub her belly. Ava does well in a relaxed home. She does not tend to play with toys but does have the occasional moments of playfulness and gets her energy out by using her cardboard scratcher. She’s known for having a short bout of zoomies right after her evening visit to the litter box. For those 60 seconds, she’s a marathon runner. After that, she’s ready to head to bed and cuddle up right next to your feet or head. She is unfazed by most things and does well with new adult people, but she dislikes fireworks and similar loud noises. This baby has so much love and affection to offer. She is the perfect companion for someone who is seeking a low profile buddy.
AVA'S BACKSTORY: She made her way back to this rescue under the saddest circumstances: she was originally adopted from us 8 years ago, but a shelter notified us that they had her in their care after scanning her microchip. Her "owner" dumped her citing an international move. Ava is safe with us until her REAL forever people or person finds her.
Interested in adopting? Please visit our website at www.thecatsmeowanimalrescue.org to fill out an application and view our weekly scheduled adoption events. One application covers all cats and kittens staying at our Petco locations, and those in individual foster homes.

Questions? Email us at info@thecatsmeowanimalrescue.org.
1. Submit an adoption application at www.thecatsmeowanimalrescue.org
2. If you have not yet met the cat(s) you wish to adopt, come to an adoption event or schedule a foster home visit to meet the cat(s). Please note that we cannot schedule any private foster home visits until you submit an application.
3. If your application is approved, we will contact you within a week to schedule a home visit. One of our experienced volunteers will stop by your home to ensure that you are able to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the cat. We may also provide tips for integrating the cat into your home environment.
4. We ask for a minimum tax-deductible donation* of $225.00 for each cat you adopt from us. Donations may be made online (via a secure PayPal transaction) or in-person via cash or check. If you are adopting a pair of kitties, the donation is $200.00 each ($400.00 total).
*Additional donations are highly encouraged, as they enable us to rescue another cat from the shelter or the streets. Because our organization is a non-profit run entirely by volunteers, we rely solely on donations to continue rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abandoned and neglected cats.
5. We will have you sign an Adoption Agreement detailing the terms of the adoption at the time you collect your new kitty. You may view a copy of it on our website.
6. That’s it! You will communicate with the cat’s foster parents to coordinate pick-up. Please always transport your cat in a carrier for safety.
7. We will email or mail you a copy of your Adoption Agreement, a letter confirming your donation, and medical records and microchip information. This usually takes about 2 weeks.
In addition to receiving individualized medical care, we provide the following services to our cats: spay/neuter, microchip, testing for FELV/FIV, flea and dewormer treatments, and vaccinations.
