Hello! My name is Zappa, and I'm a bundle of joy who loves to cuddle, play, and explore the outdoors. I'm always ready for an adventure, but be warned: I have a high prey drive and can't resist chasing after squirrels. A fenced-in yard would be perfect for me to run and play safely.
I'm a big fan of pets and cuddles, especially from my foster parents. I get along wonderfully with my foster brother Ares, and we have a blast playing together. I thrive when I have plenty of toys to keep me entertained, so make sure to keep me busy to avoid boredom.
I'm almost fully housebroken, with only the occasional accident inside. During meal times, my foster parents separate me from Ares because I can't resist trying to sneak his food! I'm crate trained and will happily go in on command.
I am beginning to experience some hip dysplasia, with flattening in my femoral area. While the vet doesn't recommend surgery at this time, it's something that might be needed later in life. For now, I take joint supplements and Galliprant as needed to stay comfortable.
If you're looking for a loving and playful companion with a zest for life, I'm your pup! Can't wait to meet you and become part of your family.

TAPS-Tazewell Animal Protective Society was founded in 1958 in Pekin Illinois in a building donated by the City of Pekin on River Road. In 1979, rapidly rising river water forced the evacuation of the animals. Once again, the City of Pekin stepped in and donated a building for the animals. Several moves later, and with the help and generosity of many volunteers and community members, TAPS now has a new home at 100 TAPS Lane. Last year we celebrated 50 year of caring for the homeless animals of Central Illinois.
