Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Remmy is an active, athletic, and tenacious young boy that turns a year old in December. He thrives with daily games and work including playing fetch and getting to use his nose.
He is a lover for sure and prefers to be near his person during down time. In his previous foster home he would lie at his foster mom's feet, especially when she was in the kitchen. Remmy tends to favor one person and be casually friendly towards the rest of the household. He can be pretty weary of strangers and needs to be managed around them until they have become familiar to him. He will alert you with barking if he sees and hears things he feels you should know about.
Remmy is partly the product of breeding for hunting dogs that will keep at it until the job is done and obstacles overcome and it shows in his personality. He will do best with an owner that can handle him in a gentle, intelligent, and steadfast manner. He may or may not be suited for hunting but with a positive training approach he could do well in Obedience or Rally and probably Nosework.
The breeder claimed he is a wirehaired pointing griffon though he certainly doesn't look like a purebred or well bred one.
While Remmy is okay with some dogs we primarily recommend him as a single dog until he is older and more mature. He does not do well with dogs of his own age and energy level as it makes him very rambunctious and causes him to misbehave.
He likes to chase cats and while he mostly sees it as a fun game it could change, and the cats don't find it particularly amusing.
If you would like to meet Remmy you can print a pre-adoption form from our website @northernstardogrescue.org and email us @ northernstardogrescue@gmail.com
