Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It`s really hard to find a dog that has it all and what I mean by that is a dog that loves dogs, cats and kids! This curious fellow loves to sniff around on walks, and is an easy going dude. That is a tough combo to find those three amazing qualities. Drogo loves everybody and has a super friendly demeanor, he truly is a gentle and sweet boy! He takes treats nice and softly from you which would mean even little ones can have him `sit` on command (we all know how much kids love to see a dog do a nice trick). He loves to play with toys, do happy dances, especially when he sees other dogs, and walks very nicely on a leash. He`s a real catch! Come and meet him today in adoptions! Thanks to #9 Sam Bennett of the Florida Panthers, Drogo`s adoption fee is paid for by Sam`s program Benny`s Buddies. Each time Sam scores a goal a pet at the Humane Society of Broward County benefits.

Their adoption process

1.
Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

You can view the pet and review its information online, but you must visit the facility in order to begin the adoption process.

2.
Interview

You will have a brief interview with a staff member to see if the animal fits your family and lifestyle.

3.
Meet the Pet

If the animal seems like a fit, you and your family get to meet him/her! A meet-and-greet can also be arranged to introduce furry family.

Sign Adoption Contract

Pay Fee

Take the Pet Home

If the pet is spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccines, he/she can go home right away. If not, you will pick him/her up the next day.

Additional adoption info

Please visit our shelter, we are open 7 days a week and adoptions opens daily at 11 a.m. All adopters will meet with an adoption counselor to complete an adoption application and then meet their potential new family member. Please bring your driver's license with you or a bill that has your current address on it. All pets are spayed or neutered prior to going home, so the pet may not go home the same day.

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, preliminary vaccinations, deworming, treatment for fleas, microchip, limited 14 day health care plan courtesy of VCA Animal Hospitals, feline leukemia test for cats, heartworm test for dogs over the age of 7 months, and a bag of Purina ONE pet food.

The Humane Society of Broward County is a private, non-profit organization that was founded in 1944. We are an open admission shelter that accepts all owned animals. We find homes for thousands of animals each year.

Our shelter has more than 500 volunteers that help in all areas. We also have an extensive Education Department that visits schools on a regular basis to teach respect and kindness to all animals.

In addition to spaying and neutering all the pets that are adopted, we also offer low-cost spay/neuter services for pets belonging to residents in our community and feral cats. To get your pet sterilized contact spayneuter@hsbroward.com
