Hi there, I am Raydan! At only two, this is my second stop to the shelter (at no fault of my own). My goal for 2025 is to get adopted into my forever home and be the bestest boy I can be. Shelter life has not been ideal but thankfully my foster mom swooped me up. Now let`s get down to the details...I am a professional walker on a leash. Meaning I will not pull and am happy to tag along on any and all walks. Fun fact: I am quite an athlete and I can run really fast. Don`t worry, I know when and where to let my athleticism out.
Inside may you ask! Well I have been taught not to get on any furniture. If encouraged to get on any furniture, I make sure to ask and double check. I do value my independent time but I will never say no to snuggling. I am not a chewer as I prefer to simply catch up on some needed rest, plus there are bones for that. I am not terribly picky when it comes to my forever home as I thrive with or without other pups in the home. My foster mom would like to highlight that I do not bark or whine when left alone or when outside around others and are 100% housetrained.
To sum it up I would like to say that I am quiet, collected, gentle and adaptable. Do I sound like a good fit for your home? I sure hope so. Thanks for reading and considering all things me. I hope to meet you soon.

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day! For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.
Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older
