Hi, I`m Alfie! I’m a 3-year-old Bloodhound with gorgeous red fur, tons of charisma, and a beautiful singing voice!
True to my breed, I am a gentle and sensitive soul with a playful streak. I love cuddling with our volunteers and staff, and enjoy playdates with our office dog, Silas. Although I love playdates, I`d prefer not to live with another dog, because I like my own space! Bloodhounds are renowned for their exceptional sense of smell, often called “noses with dogs attached.” That’s me for sure! I love exploring outside and investigating all the interesting smells I can find. I have even done nose-work classes, and my teacher says I`m a natural.
I’ve already done a lot of training, mastering many commands, so I’m ahead of the game! I`ve impressed everyone with my intelligence and my ability to learn quickly. I get nervous about new people and situations, but I have been practicing my coping skills with the help of staff and a trainer.
I have been able to spend a little time in foster care, and my foster family has a lot of nice things to say about me! `Alfie is a sweet boy who just needs someone with the patience to allow him to build trust. Once he trusts you, he is very affectionate and loyal. He loves to go on walks, and when he catches an interesting scent, he gets excited and begins rushing along to investigate! When he isn`t enjoying the outdoors, he likes to relax on the couch for a nap. Once he knows you, he is a leaner who will also go in for a smooch if you let him! Alfie is a wonderful dog who will make an amazing companion for someone willing to put the time in to build a bond with him.`
Interested, but unsure? I am an excellent foster candidate! A break from kennel life would be a treat for me, and you`d get to experience the joy of caring for this beautiful boy at no cost to you. Call today to learn more about fostering me and make a difference in my life!
Special requirements - Only pet, no apartments or condos, kids 12+
