With each passing day, Ernest is learning to trust people who want to help him and his brother, Hemingway. The two cats were originally part of a cat colony, where Ernest earnestly tried to survive through his wits and stunning good looks alone. Luckily, the boys made their way out of the colony and now Ernest understands what human kindness is all about.
ABOUT ERNEST: - In foster - Adult, domestic shorthair (orange and white), male - Ernest and his brother are thriving in their foster home as indoor cats. - He is more outgoing than Hemingway and will approach visitors when they have treats. - His foster mom describes him as quirky, curious, and smart. - Ernest enjoys affection on his terms, seeking affection by rubbing against his foster mom, purring, and rolling around making biscuits ( he can be touched on his tummy without swatting but he doesn’t love it). - Ernest loves to cuddle and likes to be groomed by Hemingway. - He is playful, enjoying both interactive play with his brother and solo play with feather toys, balls, and toy mice. - Ernest occasionally enjoys sprinting down the hallway to burn energy. - When he wants alone time, he relaxes on the cat tree to nap or gaze out the window. - Ernest recognizes and responds to his name when called and can be vocal, especially during mealtimes or when he wants to be petted. - Ernest is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and has received core vaccinations.
ERNEST`S IDEAL HOME: - ERNEST is part of a bonded pair and must be adopted with his partner, HEMINGWAY. - Ernest and Hemingway`s history with small children and dogs is unknown, but this ginger duo currently share a foster home with other feline-friendly cats and get along well with them.
