Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Katie came to us as a kitten and when she was less than a year old she was diagnosed with FIP. Runaways believes all kitties deserve a chance, so we fought this awful disease that until a few years ago was considered fatal with no possibility of a cure. Katie went through 84 days of treatment and 84 days of observation and was considered cured as of 8/22/23 which also happened to be her 1 year old birthday!
Katie is shy and will need someone patient who understands that she will need time to acclimate to a new environment. Until recently, Katie lived in a foster home and adored her foster mom and loved to get pets, snuggle, and to sleep with her foster mom at night. She’s now at our shelter and she likes getting pets from the volunteers. When she's getting pets, she likes to give licks and love bites. She is not fond of men so a single, quiet lady would be ideal as Katie's new family. She would not do well in a home with young children...possibly older teen girls who will be willing to give Katie space to acclimate would be fine. She absolutely adores other cats with proper introductions. She's had a couple bffs in her foster home who have moved on. Those cats tend to be her same age or older and fairly docile, but playful. She and her last bff, Ruby, used to play hide and seek every night. Ruby was adopted and it seems Katie still looks for someone to play with her. She is ok with the younger kittens, but seems to take guidance from the older ones. She would love to have a confident kitty companion. She does fine with the big dog in her foster home.
She is the best girl and you will be rewarded with a lifetime of Katie love if you're willing to take a chance.
