My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Originally thought to be "spicy Petunia is not, she is just shy. She just needs a bit of time and patience to "learn you...time to adjust to new things. She loves to be held and petted, and once she's used to her new human, she will likely sleep at your feet. She does very well with other cats. She hasn't yet been exposed to dogs, but we believe she will do well, given time to adjust. She came to us after being abandoned at the Dollar Tree in Madisonville. Indoor ONLY. She would probably do best in a home with older children. Fully vetted and ready to go! Estimated DOB: 10-10-21. Since Petunia is in a foster home right now, please call to schedule a "meet and greet. $25 adoption fee for this spectacular girl. 423-436-2900 or email info@monroecountyfriendsofanimals.org

More about this shelter

Concern over a large, and ever increasing, population of homeless dogs and cats, instigated the opening of the Monroe County Animal Shelter.
A not-for-profit organization, Monroe County Friends of Animals help the shelter by providing volunteers, fundraising events, grant writing and more. There is always a need for more volunteers. With a small budget, donations are a welcome necessity. We have developed educational programs to promote spay/neuter and humane care of all animals.
