My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Peaches is about a year and a half old, large, ~60 pound, blue brindle pitbull-gorgeous gal. This lady has the best house manners! She is fully house trained, doesn’t seem to want to beg for food while you are eating, and loves to lounge around the house or fall asleep while cuddling on the couch with her humans. Now, this girl does get some energy from time to time and has cases of the Zoomies now and then. She can jump pretty high when she wants too - but then also asks for help getting into the car or on the couch :).

Even when Peaches lets some energy out, she can calm down quickly and does seem to still pay attention to her humans’ commands and treats. Peaches is crate trained, but I wouldn’t say she loves it and prefers her dog bed instead. However, if you would like to crate at night, a milk bone will do the trick and she’ll be a nice patient lady and airing for morning. Peaches’ leash manners need some work.  She has spent a lot of time at the shelter so more exposure and a consistent, patient human to help her realize how to walk on a leash is needed. She can be a bit wild when first on the leash, but when she does calm down, she seems to have a blast outside.

As you can tell by her profile pictures, Peaches likes big dogs that match her energy and play level. Peaches hasn’t had success with smaller dogs. Peaches loves people and wants to be around them as much as possible!  This girl is meant to be a wonderful human’s house hippo/cuddle (big) bug. Please come meet Peaches today!

Additional adoption info

The first step to meet or adopt any of our animals is to fill out a no-commitment application online. This is normally followed up with a meeting between your family and the animal, and a home visit. Adoption fees range from $75 to $300. Please visit our website (TarasDream.org) for more information about our adoptable pet including bios, more photos, and each pet's adoption fee. If an animal is not listed on our website, they are no longer available for adoption.

More about this rescue

A non-profit 501C3, all volunteer group dedicated to helping homeless pets in the Greater Kansas City area. Our organization is the result of an alliance between several rescuers in the Kansas City region who share the same goal of ending animal suffering and homelessness.

Although we are foster home based, we also lease several kennels at a local boarding facility. Although this little "shelter" is allowing us to save many more lives, it is an added expense which is why we rely so heavily on generous donations from caring people in the community.

In addition to rescuing pets from difficult situations, we offer courtesy listings in Pet Finder, facilitate low-cost spays and neuterings, work on transfers and transports with existing rescue groups, help individuals and organizations promote, screen and educate potential adopters, fund raise to help pets with special needs, offer guidance and information about animal rescue, organize events, etc.
