Louie was found at Frankie & Louie's as a stray so we don't know his history or how he came to be lost. He is a friendly dog who gets along well with other dogs as long is there is not a toy involved. Louie is selective with other dogs and not good with cats. If kept on a schedule, Louie is housetrained. He pulls on his leash, so needs practice. He recently completed training at the Jeff City Correctional Center's Puppies for Parole Program, so is well versed in commands. Louie is a super sweet and playful guy, his favorite activity being fetch. Primary Color: Black Weight: 83 Age: 5yrs 1mths 0wks

More about this shelter
Dogwood Animal Shelter is a non-profit, no-kill shelter.
Since its infancy, compassionate, like-minded volunteers have been the driving force behind Dogwood Animal Shelter. Through auctions and sales, a handful of dedicated people raised enough money to build its first, albeit small facility and was established as a 501(c) 3 in 1976. It was filled beyond capacity almost immediately.
The shelter is funded entirely from donations and proceeds from their Dogwood Animal Shelter Thrift Store.
After years of saving, planning and busting at the seams with fur-babies, in 2005 it was time to build a new facility with their own in-house clinic! Under the direction of Dr. John Reinhold and coupled with a very dedicated and gifted team of Veterinarians and staff, Dogwood Animal Shelter continues to offer low cost spays and neuters to the public as well as services to their shelter buddies; services to approximately 2,000 dogs and cats yearly!
Dogwood Animal Shelter began their journey of being a successful no-kill shelter in 1997, and since then has saved over 40,000 lives!
