My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Queen Whitney is here to take over your couch and your heart!

Whitney is queen of many things: zoomies, the yard, her royal subjects (her fan club), and her wubba kong toys. The though she has a band of followers, she hasn't found her own throne to sit upon! Could that be your couch? Will you join her royal family?

Whitney hasn't wasted her time at the shelter or in her foster home. She's been working on many of the things a royal pup should know. She is an expert cuddler, knows lots of fun tricks, and has been working on her walking etiquette. She prefers that her subjects greet her with a game of fetch or "touch" instead of a bow.

Whitney comes with her own courtier (trainer) to assist her as she settles into her new kingdom. Kirsten, from Wise Dogs Training, has been working with Whitney while she has been in foster to help her prepare to be a queen. Whitney's court is also prepared to support her transition to a new home and is always happy to chat about how wonderful of a ruler she is!

Ask to meet Queen Whitney and we will happily arrange a meeting with Her Grace!

More about this shelter

We serve the pets and people in Northern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin. Our mission is clear: To take responsibility for each and every orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected dog and cat which reaches our doors; to take them in and shelter them; to provide the best medical and physical care possible for them; to nurture them back to health if need be; and finally to place them into warm, loving, adoptive homes where they can enjoy the lives they deserve.
