My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jackson is a warm, playful and curious kitten. He can make a toy our of any loose wrapper or object he finds on the floor. He loves to be picked up and held for a short hello. He has a beautiful swirl of black and white fur. He makes the silliest faces, especially when he finds a funny smell. He is very bonded to his sister Dakota and very protective over her. Hasn’t had exposure to dogs or young kids. But he welcomes those after he is able to warm up. HALO's cats and kittens can be seen at Pet Food Express every Friday 4pm-7pm plus Saturday and Sunday 10am-1:30pm (except the third Saturday, we do not have an adoption event). Pet Food Express is located at 5829 Lone Tree Way B, Antioch, CA. Please bring your own carrier.

All of HALO's cats are available for adoptions have been spayed or neutered and up-to-date on their vaccinations.

All the animals are microchipped.

Dogs and cats receive a complete check by a veterinarian.

H.A.L.O. is the East Contra Costa County Homeless Animals' Lifeline Organization, better known as H.A.L.O. We are a nonprofit, all volunteer, 501c(3) charitable organization who assists dogs, cats and their owners in Eastern Contra Costa County.
We rescue approximatly 500 animals a year, all by volunteers, all in our homes and in our hearts.
We are not a shelter,
We have grant funds for the spaying and neutering of East County ferals and food for them if needed.
We have a program called "Angel Ears" where certified dogs and their trainers go to the local libraries and the children read to the dogs. This has proven a very effective way to increase reading skills rapidly. We also take the dogs to senior facilities.
We are in need of volunteer in many capacities.
