My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi I’m Clay! A happy-go-lucky two-year-old (almost three! My birthday's April 19th and it’s my wish to have a home to call my own to celebrate it!) mix of pure joy and American Bulldog, Life started a bit chaotic I gotta admit, I was born with my siblings at a shelter in North Carolina a whirlwind of sounds and smells but then the amazing folks at Big Dog Ranch came along and scooped us up when I was just a tiny pup and full of mischief! All my siblings have found their forever homes but the Shelter life has been my whole life and world, I've learned to navigate the kennels make friends with all the other dogs the hyper ones that match my energy and the calm ones that just like to chill. I do like my boundaries respected with super pushy canine friends but I’m very tolerant and adjust amazingly! I’ve mastered the art of the zoomies and being the sweetest boy! I've never had a real home, I've never known the feel of soft carpets under my paws or the comfort of a cozy couch But I'm a super quick learner and eager to please! Definitely take advantage of our free training class so I can learn and be the perfect boy for you! I'm ready to soak up all the new experiences and learn all the new tricks! I'm a high-energy pup who loves to play tag, swim in the water or my favorite learning new tricks! I also love to wrestle with my canine buddies and explore every nook and cranny of the yard but don’t leave me unsupervised cause I can get into mischief! growing up in the shelter environment has made me a bit barrier reactive It’s very frustrating seeing everybody on the other side of a wall that I can’t get but with some basic training I’d learn right away there nothing to be frustrated about! but that doesn’t mean I’m aggressive in any way, I’m actually the biggest softie I love to snuggle up close and receive all the pets, I'm a good boy always wagging my tail and eager to make you smile! I'm looking for a loving family who is ready for an active pup I'll need some basic manners and obedience training, but I'm a quick study and will thrive with positive reinforcement, I'm also hoping to find a home with another playful dog to keep me company! So if you're looking for a loyal, loving, and energetic companion, look no further! I'm Clay, and I can't wait to meet you!
