Meet Vera, a beautiful young Catahoula Leopard dog mix, wrapped in a veil of shyness. Her curiosity about the world around her is endearing, yet she treads lightly, her gentle nature shining through with each interaction. Her demeanor is sweet and mellow, a calming presence in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Vera’s different colored eyes hold a depth of spirit, a testament to her keen and quiet intelligence as she quietly observes the world around her and her soft coat is the color of sunlit wheat fields. Vera’s shyness is not a barrier, but a sweet invitation to the right person to earn her trust. Her adoption would bring a gentle and curious companion into your life, a friend who would explore the world with you, and offer a quiet and comforting presence. A home with Vera is a home filled with gentle love and curiosity.

FAUNA is the newly combined animal rescue organization serving Natchitoches Parish. Members of Natchitoches Humane Society and Natchitoches Hope for Paws have voted to join efforts and work together alongside parish and city officials to help Natchitoches become a low/no-kill community.
Our mission is to provide and promote humane treatment for homeless and neglected animals in need, working together with the community to find them caring homes. Striving to be a low-kill community, we will provide programs and services to create a society of responsible pet owners. As animal advocates we will be a voice for those creatures who cannot speak for themselves.
