Meeko came to the shelter back in October as a young puppy. He was surrendered due to the family having too much going on in the home and being unable to properly care for him. He lived with kids of all ages in the home and did well with them. He was adopted and retuned a few months later due to the health of the owner. The adopter reported that he will chew things up and become destructive in the house if not crated when left alone. We are unsure if Meeko has met cats. He does very well in playgroup with other dogs and even has a few yard mates. Check out our Facebook page (Paws and Claws Rescue & Resort) to see videos of Meeko in playgroup. Meeko has shown resource guarding here in shelter-he's a total foodie and will snap if his food is messed with. Staff have worked with him by holding the food dish while he eats and he has done very well. His adopters should know to respect his space while he eats or chews on any sort of bone. Because he is so food motivated and so smart, teaching tricks and commands should be easy! Although Meeko likes to give us a hard time with his typical husky attitude, he has quickly become a staff favorite here and loves getting pets and affection.
