My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

dob 4/1/18

Alfie was adopted a few years ago, and his adopters were told then that he should be an only cat, but after a while they adopted a kitten, and when he responded aggressively to it, they returned him.  Alfie’s TC Paw foster knows that he’s the boss. He’s delightfully proud and independent, but he likes to be close by your side – just not on your lap. He will often sleep at the base of your bed or lie on your desk as you work. He definitely lets you know when it’s breakfast time! Although a loner, Alfie likes to be included and he will complain when he’s left out of the action.  Alfie lets you know when he wants affection… as well as when “enough is enough.” He loves having his head and chin scratched. When he feels over-stimulated, Alfie may suddenly soft bite to signal “stop.” A soft hissing sound is all it takes for him to let go. In a few seconds he’s calm again and back for more attention. At the end of the day, Alfie hangs around wherever you’re relaxing. You’ll find him nearby, curled up napping within eyesight. He ’s curious and enjoys meeting new people. Alfie is smart. He opens doors with certain types of handles, and he solves cat treat puzzles. He also immensely enjoys play time with  string toys, which simulate hunting. His curiosity is insatiable, and he looks for new spaces to explore. The garage (doors down), with its scents and critters, is an endless source of entertainment.  Alfie needs to be “an only child.” He claims his territory and clearly does not like to share it with other animals. In an adult home with an experienced cat person who wants a single pet, Alfie will be a good, loyal, and entertaining companion.
