My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you’re in the market for a top-notch biscuit maker, then Mr. Teddy is the cat for you! Teddy, a former community cat, has learned to love the indoor cat life. When he’s not making biscuits, he likes to spend his time watching birds and squirrels from the window or napping in his favorite sunlit spots. Despite being a former community cat, Teddy is a very tidy guy with stellar litter etiquette.

Mr. Teddy enjoys quality play time. His favorite toys include feathered wand toys and anything that involves catnip. He is also a very food-motivated fella. He loves to snack on churu treats, dried fish treats, and temptations.

Teddy’s ideal home involves a calm environment where he can flourish and feel safe. Since he formerly had to survive as a stray community cat, Teddy can be a bit shy and cautious when first meeting new people or when going to new places. His time in foster has shown that with some love, patience, and lots of head scratches, Teddy can open up to humans and seek out all the love and affection he has been long overdue for! ?

Teddy looks forward to meeting his forever human(s)! ?^•?•^?

Additional adoption info

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day!
For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites.
For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older

More about this shelter

Austin Animal Center is the largest open-intake animal shelter in central Texas and we work very hard to try to save 90% or more of the thousands of animals we shelter every year. We always need volunteers and both monetary and in-kind donations to help us in our sheltering and prevention activities. Visit our website to find out how you can help!
