From my foster family: "Blynken, or what we like to sometimes say "Blynkey - is one the most affectionate and gentle lap cats you could have. She always wants to be around you while getting some pets at the same time. She loves lounging and playing with teaser wand toys. She's not super vocal but lets her voice out when she wants your attention! She doesn't seem to shed much, either!"

If the pet is already spayed/neutered, and we're not waiting on a meet & greet or medical results to come back, the pet can go home TODAY!

Additional adoption info

VHS Adoption hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 12:00-6:00 pm Central Standard Time.

Our adoption fees are as follows:

Cats & kittens: $100
Dogs older than 6 months: $200
Puppies under 6 months: $250
Rabbits: $50

Dog and cat adoption fees include the animal's spay or neuter, nationally-registered microchip, and age-appropriate vaccinations.

Please visit our shelter between the hours of 12:00 noon CST and 6:00 pm CST Tuesday through Saturday to adopt an animal, no appointment needed!

The Vanderburgh Humane Society, Inc. (VHS), a tax exempt, 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 1957. We receive no tax-based funding whatsoever. Therefore, we depend on the generosity of the corporate community and the public at large to continue, and hopefully expand, the much needed services we offer.
