Samwise, Sam for short, is a beautiful DSH red/orange tabby male born approximately 1/26/2022. He has striking round yellow eyes. This big, sweet boy is large and in charge!
Sam was originally rescued a year ago when he showed up in a Garland neighborhood out of nowhere and the consensus was that he was a dumped or abandoned pet. Several neighbors started feeding him. Then one Saturday afternoon in January when the DFW arctic blast arrived, Sam showed up at the backdoor of one of the neighbors and begged to come in. She took him in and contacted New Beginnings, agreeing to foster him until he could be adopted. He was quickly adopted into a loving home, but sadly was recently returned to us.
Sam is a very social and loving cat. He has a loud purr and likes to make biscuits on people. He is good with all people and children. He is a lap kitty and snuggler. He just wants all the pets, comfy beds, and all the foods. He loves belly rubs and head scritches. He has good kitty manners and uses scratching posts.
Like his namesake, Samwise, he is a good and faithful companion, salt of the earth - a Texas good ol' boy!
Sam is microchipped and currently in a foster home. His adoption fee is $105.

Adopters must be 21 years or older and willing to invest the time and money required to care for a pet. In addition to providing love and attention, regular medical care is required. Please ask if you would like more information about veterinary fees and costs.
Our animals come from a variety of situations. Some have been dumped at shelters or vets, and many are ill or malnourished when rescued. Although the animal has been in a protected environment, there is the possibility of unrecognized illness appearing after an adoption is finalized, especially because of the stress the animal may experience during the first few days at its new home. We advise adopters of the animal's known history and provide its veterinary records, but frequently we know only what the animal chooses to tell us. We cannot make any guarantee regarding the long-term health of any animal. Adoption fees are generally not refundable unless prior arrangements are made.
If you feel that you are ready to adopt, please e-mail adoptions@nbcrtx.org for prompt attention. A NBCR adoption counselor will contact you to arrange an interview.
