My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Handsome, Chipper, Cautious

Leap Year is a handsome hunk with aspirations of becoming a cuddle bug. Like the rare day he’s named after, Leap Year has a touch of mystery about him. Calm and cautious, he’s still learning to trust humans and hasn’t yet welcomed physical interaction. For now, he prefers observing his surroundings from high perches, where he can take in the world at his own pace.

Though shy, Leap Year isn’t without moments of playfulness. When the mood strikes, he’ll engage in a bit of typical feline fun, showing flashes of the lively, curious spirit within. He’s also been known to chirp or quietly meow at the sight of other cats, though his history suggests he’s happiest as a solo cat for now.

Leap Year’s journey to feeling safe and comfortable has been slow but steady. He’s made progress since his arrival, but there’s still a way to go. He’s looking for patient adopters who understand that trust takes time and are willing to give him the space and love he needs to blossom. With gentle encouragement and consistency, Leap Year has the potential to overcome his anxiety and discover how wonderful life with humans can be.

If you have a calm home and a heart big enough to give this special boy the chance he deserves, Leap Year could be your perfect match. He may take time to leap into your life fully, but when he does, it will feel like a moment worth celebrating.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
