Meet Precious Polly!

She is a fun loving girl who has been looking for her home for a long time. She came into our rescue when she was 13 years old, and now she is 15 years old, but still has the ability to be mischievous, playful and love her humans. She loves other dogs and cats and would love to have some fur-friends in her new homes. She is a beautiful, sweet and good girl that deserves a second chance at love and a family for the final years of her life. She has some age-related issues, and takes Proin daily, which costs around $40 per month. She requires a diet without Chicken, as the feathered animals upset her stomach. Speaking of feathered animals, she would not do well in a home with fowl or other wildlife since she tends to chase them, even at her age!

All dogs are fully vetted, have age appropriate core vaccinations, and have been spayed/neutered and microchiped. 100% of the adoption fees go back to helping us rescue more dogs.

Our adoption process consists of an application, phone or face to face interview, home visit and reference checks. If you are approved to adopt from Tails of the Unwanted, you will be required to sign an adoption contract.

Our dogs are placed in foster homes around North Carolina and currently in the Concord, Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston Salem, High Point and Salisbury areas. We want our dogs to be placed in a loving and caring home and will arrange meet and greets with approved adopters.

More about this rescue

We are a rescue that networks and promote shelter dogs at risk of being euthanized at high kill shelters. If no one comes to their rescue, we step in. We are always looking for fosters and donations as well as volunteers so that we can continue to save the dogs who have run out of time at the high kill shelters.
