My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roger is what some might call a "slow to warm" cat. If you're an experienced cat owner looking for a challenge and a rewarding companion, Roger might just be the perfect match for you. He takes his time to trust and feel comfortable in new surroundings. However, once he settles in, he begins to reveal his playful and curious nature. Roger prefers the company of other kitties, finding solace and companionship in their presence.

Roger's ideal home is with adults who understand the ins and outs of cat behavior and are patient and compassionate. He thrives in an environment where there are other cats to interact with, but he also needs a space where he can have his independence respected. For this reason, Roger is best suited for a home without children.

Roger does have his quirks and understanding his boundaries and providing positive reinforcement can help him work through these behaviors.

If you're considering welcoming Roger into your home, there are a few things you can do to help him feel more comfortable and secure:

Patience and Understanding: Give Roger the time he needs to adjust to his new environment. Be patient with his progress and respect his boundaries.

Positive Reinforcement: Use treats and praise to reward Roger for good behavior. This will help him associate positive experiences with human interaction.

Provide Enrichment: Keep Roger stimulated and engaged with interactive toys and activities. This will help positively channel his energy and prevent boredom.

For the right person or family, Roger can be a loyal companion. If you're willing to invest the time and effort into building a trusting relationship with Roger, you'll be rewarded with a playful and loving feline friend for years to come.

Roger is an All-Star cat! My adoption comes with some extra benefits at time of adoption! His adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and he will go home with a few enrichment goodies to help get her off to a good start! To schedule an appointment to meet Roger, email info@ahconnects.org (please include your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to help you! Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of
our participating veterinarians.
