My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Roscoe, and I'm a 4-year-old Husky with a zest for life and a ton of energy to share. I came to this shelter from another one, and I'm looking for a forever home where I can truly thrive.

I have a lot of energy and love to run around, especially if there's a pool I can lay in! I'm known to be a bit hardheaded at times, which means I might need a firm but loving hand to guide me. While I haven't shown much interest in toys or treats so far, I do enjoy the goodie bags the kennel staff give me. I'm not a fan of being left alone in the yard since I can jump pretty high and might try to clear the fence, so leash walking is a must for me.

When I'm out on a walk, I sometimes follow commands and I do know how to sit! I can be a bit tricky to walk at times, especially if there are other dogs around. I tend to react to male dogs and chase after them in a way that can seem predatory. I'm much better with female dogs and I'm really sweet when it's just me and my human friends. I'd do best in a home where I'm the only dog, but I'm great with humans and would love an active adopter who can keep up with my high energy levels.

I might show aggression and reactivity when I see other dogs from a distance, but I promise I'm just trying to figure out how to act around them. With the right training and positive reinforcement, I believe I can improve. I'd love a home with a fenced-in yard where I can run around safely, and I'd be the perfect companion for someone who enjoys outdoor activities and has an active lifestyle.

If you're looking for a sweet, high-energy dog who loves to run and play, I'm your guy. I just need a bit of guidance and a lot of love, and I'll be the best friend you've ever had. Come meet me and let's start our adventure together!
