Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Barbara, the charming senior lady with a heart of gold! Barbara's journey originally brought her to us after her beloved owner passed away and then again after being adopted for a bit. But don't let her age fool you-Barbara still has plenty of pep in her step and oodles of affection to share. Despite her visual impairment, she's a cuddly and affectionate soul, stealing the hearts of everyone she meets. She will just need time and help to adjust to a new environment and will need a home where things aren't rearranged a lot so she can learn her way around.
Barbara has quickly become a staff favorite with her gentle demeanor and loving nature. She's the kind of cat who thrives on companionship, yearning for a cozy spot to curl up with her new family. Whether it's nestled close to you on the couch or lounging in a plush bed, Barbara's happiest moments are spent in the warmth of human company.
If you're ready to open your heart and home to this darling lady, consider filling out an adoption application on our website or stopping by the shelter to meet Barbara in person. Let's ensure Barbara's golden years are filled with all the love and comfort she deserves. Don't miss out on the chance to make Barbara a cherished member of your family!

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is proud to be a no-kill animal welfare agency. We are committed to finding great homes for great pets! As a 501(c)(3) nonproft, we receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from individuals, companies and grants to fund our programs and services. We are not affiliated with any other animal agency on a local, state or national level. Since 1902, our organization has been devoted to being a voice for the voiceless. Although we proudly find more than 2,000 animals forever homes every year, we are far more than an adoption center. We currently have a wide array of programs to support animals in our community. Through our high-volume spay and neuter clinic, we are able to help pet owners as well as battle cat overpopulation through Trap-Neuter-Return. Our humane society agents also work tirelessly to protect pets from cruel and neglectful circumstances through our Cruelty & Neglect Investigations Department. Through our Veterinary Hospital, we can provide top-quality access to veterinary care at a low cost to pet owners. In addition to our many programs, our organization is unique because we are the only agency in the community able to handle all types of animals. This includes cats and dogs but also rabbits, birds, farm animals, pocket pets and exotics. Our organization is committed to providing our community, our state and our region with support and care.
