Ellie is a beautiful young girl that found her way to us after being found as a stray. She is a playful, affectionate, athletic, high energy pup. Squirrels get her attention and she loves to chase them, so best to have her in a fenced in yard.

Ellie finds enjoyment in all humans! She does AMAZING with kids. Give her a lap and she will crawl right in for snuggles. She has learned stay and is good about listening around open doors, and we know she could learn so much more as she loves to try new things and please her owners. She would be best as an only pet. If you’re an active family with kids and no other pets, please consider Ellie! She is fantastic!

She is 2 yrs old, fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped and on heartworm & flea/tick prevention.

We have monthly adoption events at Lume in Petersburg and Tractor Supply in Dundee, MI.

More about this shelter

We are a family run rescue that we have established on our property. We pull from local animal control and shelters, as well as owner surrenders and high risk shelters. At Hard Licker Ranch we operate in small packs so that we can socialize the dogs as well as to understand the most about their personalities. We have 2 barns that are temperature controlled, and the dogs have 24 hour access to come in and out through weathered doggy doors. We do it to make life better for every dog that comes into our care and give them a second chance. We also do community outreach and TNR. Our rescue is also a Sanctuary for barn cats who need a home!
