Patches is a 3-year-old cat who came to MWHS as a stray. He is one of the sweetest, gentlest little boys you could ever meet. He is shy and reserved by nature and will need time and patience while he gets to know you but once he does, he is very loving and wants to be near you and get lots of pets. While you pet him, he will look into your eyes and purr with utter contentment. He is a very chill and mellow kitty and while he will play with you if you bring out a wand toy, he mostly loves to either sit near you and hang out while you do your thing or look out the window and watch the birds and squirrels and sleep in the sunbeams coming in. While he currently is not a lap cat, his foster mom has been working with him, and he is starting to venture into her lap and making great progress learning that a lap can be a safe and special place. He is a very neat and tidy cat, keeps himself spotless and is rather remarkable in that he sheds very, very little. He always uses his scratching posts and never touches the furniture or carpet.
Given how quiet and gentle Patches is, he would do best in a quiet home without small children or other pets, and with adopters that will understand he needs time to adjust and learn he is safe and loved. He is such a special little boy and will make a wonderful, loving addition to a very lucky family.
