My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Heart, an 8-year-old Female German Shepherd, is ready to bring love and loyalty to your home. Potty trained and a lover of routine, she thrives in a structured environment. Heart enjoys the company of other dogs but adores being the center of attention. A little shy at first, she warms up quickly with love and patience. Looking for a family who understands her breed's needs and is ready to provide love and care. Could your home be the one she's been waiting for?

More about this shelter

The Aberdeen Area Humane Society serves the northern South Dakota and southern North Dakota area. We are here in the interests of animal welfare. We place homeless animals into good homes as well as rescue animals from abusive situations. We have a shelter facility just southwest of Aberdeen and house many animals while we try to find them good homes. We are a non-profit organization and are funded by memberships, donations, fundraisers and adoptions.

If you suspect an animal is being mistreated and/or abused, contact us. We will investigate or refer to the appropriate agency. Your call can be kept confidential and we will handle the rest.
