My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lefty is ready to ring in the New Year with a fresh start and a new forever family. This 10-year-old sweetheart was adopted from us as a kitten, but life brought her back when her elderly owner moved into assisted living. Now, she’s hoping 2025 will bring her the loving home she deserves.

Lefty is the perfect blend of mellow and chatty—a low-maintenance companion with a lot to say. Whether she’s curled up next to you or sharing her thoughts on the day, she’ll bring warmth and comfort to your home. Lefty has a gentle soul and would love to nap in sunny spots and keep you company. It`s important to note that Lefty does have a thyroid condition, which requires daily medication. But don`t let that deter you! With a little extra TLC, Lefty is ready to fill your home with love and companionship.

If your resolution is to bring more love into your life, Lefty is the one for you. Let’s make this her happiest New Year yet! Call 843-249-4948 to meet Lefty, or you can submit an application at https://humanesocietynmb.org/cat-adoption-form/

Additional adoption info

HSNMB does not hold animals and all adoptions are done on a first-come, first-served basis in person at the shelter. Once the adoption is completed and the fee is paid, you must take the animal with you at that time.

Please be sure to bring a photo ID and cash or a credit card for the adoption fee. The primary caregiver is required to be present to go through the adoption process. Any children 5 and under and, in some cases, any existing dogs living in the home will be required to be present and meet the animal prior to adopting. Meet and greets are not required for all animals, but may be deemed necessary by HSNMB staff for specific pets.

Adoption Fees:
Cats (over 6 months of age): $60
Kittens (under 6 months of age): $100
Dogs (over 6 months of age): $110
Puppies (under 6 months of age): $140
Seniors ages 60 and up qualify for discounted adoptions fees.
