Say hello to one of the most photogenic dogs we've ever met, Tom Collins! 🥰😍 Tom is 60 pound hound/pit mix who would love to spend his days doing any activity you can think of. Swimming, hiking, long walks in the park, Tom is your guy for exciting adventures! He just can't get enough! This poor baby was adopted and then returned to us through no fault of his own. He is looking for a committed adopter who will give him his own home to THRIVE in, and we just know you'll fall in love with him immediately. Because honestly, what's not to love? This guy is absolutely adorable, and he's always willing to show off his good looks (as you can clearly see!) Tom Collins is dog friendly, but he does have a higher prey drive that makes us cautious of sending him to a home with cats. Our lovely man thinks shelter life is sooo boring, and we have to agree. There's just not enough to do, and he doesn't get enough time outside to satisfy his level of energy. If you're looking for a perfect sweetheart to fall in love with, Tom is your guy. Even with his rough past, and being let down over and over, he never stops smiling. This goofy boy would love to be given the opportunity to show you how perfect he really is! Tom is neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. If you are interested in him, please fill out an adoption application and help us get this boy out of the shelter for the LAST time. All animals must be spayed or neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated before finalizing adoption.

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Southern Illinois was first founded in 1956. We are an open-access shelter that accepts animals from three separate animal control officers, as well as the general public. We are mainly funded through donations and every little bit helps.
We work with a few independent rescue coordinators to place adoptable animals in high quality rescue programs.
As always, this would never have been possible without the kind and generous donations of our members and supporters. Please donate to help sustain this vital Life Saving program!
