Meet Wooden Plank!

Wooden Plank might have a quirky name, but he's all heart! This handsome boy is a true "cat's cat-he absolutely loves snuggling and hanging out with his feline friends in the free-roaming room. If you already have a cat or two, Wooden Plank would be the perfect addition to your family!

He's a bit shy around people at first and might run when you approach. But with a little patience and slow movements, he'll warm up. Let him sniff your hand, and before you know it, he'll let you give him some gentle pets. He's made incredible progress during his stay with us and is ready to keep growing in a loving home.

If you're looking for a sweet, gentle cat who thrives with other kitties and just needs a little time to trust, Wooden Plank is your guy. He's come so far already-now he just needs a home where he can truly shine!

All adoptions must be done in person. Prospective adopters must meet the pet and complete the adoption application and questionnaire during the initial visit to our shelter at 2802 W Central Park Ave, Davenport, IA.

The Humane Society of Scott County (HSSC) has been an advocate for the humane care of all animals in Scott County, Iowa, since 1902.

An average of 500 pets arrive at the HSSC each month. About 80% come to us as strays and the rest are surrendered by owners who can no longer keep or care for their pets.

The HSSC is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization funded entirely by donations, adoption fees and a fee charged to the city and county for the care of the animals.
