My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everyone, my name is Blackie and I am a beautiful girl with a beautiful soft black coat. I am very shy and would love to find someone to accept me and love me gently out of my shell. I'm learning to play and be more confident. I do like some brushing and lots of pets. Pretty soon, I'll be one years old and would love a home for my birthday. If you have patience and a gentle soul, I would love to meet you.

I am fixed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and ready to go home with you. Please call (928) 282-4879 between 10 am and 4 pm to schedule and appointment.

More about this shelter

Our Vision - Be Our Heart & Voice
Building a caring community where every adoptable and treatable pet finds a life-long loving home.

Our Mission
The Humane Society of Sedona is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of pets in our community and beyond. The Society has served the Verde Valley since 1966.

The Linda and Allan Brecher Center for Animals at the society is designed to allow every person, who desires the love of a pet, to adopt and provide a forever loving home. The Center provides quality care and positive reinforcement behavior training for adoptable pets. Passionate volunteers help walk and socialize the pets in our care. Foster pet parents are an important part of caring for pets outside the Center.

The Society provides vital services for pets and people alike through income-based affordable spay/neuter surgeries and vaccination clinics. Also, for families in need to feed their pets, we have a Pet Food Program.

Another public resource is our adult and youth educational programs.

The Society relies on community support, contributions, grants, bequests, investments, proceeds from the Society’s thrift stores and some fees for service in order to save pets’ lives.
