Meet Payne, a staff favorite and one of the most amazing cats you will ever meet! He is a huge ball of love who adores being in your lap and getting affection, but also loves to P L A Y! He spends most of his day gazing out of the window on his beloved cat tree, but loves a random zoomie and playing with toys. Did we mention he loves being pushed around in a stroller?! And it comes with his adoption! Payne is FELV+ so he needs to be the only cat or housed with other FELV+ cats, but do NOT let his diagnosis scare you! His case is very mild and he has been very healthy while at the shelter and hasn't had so much as a sniffle! Come meet this charming boy today and be ready to fall in L O V E!! All of out animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, and are on flea/tick/heartworm preventative.

Our adoption fee covers a veterinary exam, spay/neuter surgery, up to date vaccinations, deworm, and microchip with registration. We also offer a complimentary follow-up wellness visit with one of our local veterinarians if you choose to schedule within 72 hours of adoption.

Founded in 1885, the Humane Society, Tennessee Valley is the longest standing animal shelter in the State of Tennessee. A stand-alone 501c(3) limited admissions animal shelter, the Humane Society, Tennessee Valley receives no funding from national humane entities or government agencies; relying solely on private donations and grant funding.

Located in Knoxville, TN our organization is committed to our relationships with other shelters in the Tennessee Valley, by transferring animals at-risk for euthanasia, to our shelter for adoption or transport. Our Traveling Tails transport program saves hundreds of lives each month through our partnership with St. Hubert's Waystation Program. Our PetHelp program includes a Wellness Clinic and Pet Food Pantry to help keep Pets and People Together.
