HISTORY: SABRINA appeared in someone's yard in Los Lunas, with a microchip that was incorrectly registered. As her owner could not be located, SABRINA was in need of help.
TEMPERAMENT: When it turned out that friendly, outgoing SABRINA is deaf, she came to F&F to help re-home her into a calm household where she will be safe and her special needs cared for.

SABRINA is a very sweet lap kitty, but she is also a very itchy girl. Fortunately, she feels a lot less itchy when fed a limited ingredient diet and a maintenance dose of steroid twice a week. SABRINA is looking for a new lap to occupy, with a person who will dote on her. While she may not dislike other pets, they would need to be calm and respect her space, since she cannot hear them.

We have a modest shelter at our boarding facility, Santa Fe Cats, and rely mainly on foster homes when cats are not on display at our Adoption Centers located inside Petco Santa Fe and the Turquoise Teapot & Cat Cafe. We also have cats inside a habitat at Teca Tu.

Felines & Friends is dedicated to rescuing and placing pets in need of a second chance; working towards zero pet overpopulation by facilitating low-cost spay/neuter; and improving the lives of both companion animals and their owners through on-going education.

In recent years, significant strides have been made in reducing the euthanasia rate of dogs and cats all across the nation. FELINES & FRIENDS plays an important role in this effort by supporting community TNR efforts, spaying/neutering and then rehoming unaltered stray and surrendered cats, and (through collaboration with local shelters) rehoming otherwise homeless or special needs cats and kittens. Since its formation in 2002, FELINES & FRIENDS has gained a reputation in Northern New Mexico for its proactive work in the pairing of cats and their humans. To date, we have placed over 6,000 cats (and dogs) into loving homes.

FELINES & FRIENDS utilizes a comprehensive adoption screening process to enhance the fit between pet and their adoptive family. The organization also maintains a strict return policy if ownership commitment cannot be met.
