My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Howdy, I'm Benjiman! I'm a playful and savvy pup!

They say that I am almost a year old, but who's counting! I am extremely playful but I am learning to be very polite with the help I am getting in the Paws in Prison Program. I came from the San Marcos Animal Shelter and they absolutely adored me there. I am really starting to like it here, and the ladies are teaching me so much. I am learning my basic obedience yet I promise I will always still be my sweet and charming self. I have lots of energy and I would love to play with you, or your kids or even some furry four legged friends.

All I am looking for is a chance to love you unconditionally and keep a smile on your face...... Hope to see you soon!

Visit pawsinprisontx.org to read the guidelines and fill out an application for me TODAY!!

And if you can't adopt me, it's easy to help me! All you have to do is go to the purple SPONSOR tab in my Petfinder ad and make a tax deductible donation. You'll show me some love, and get a recept for your taxes right away!!

More about this rescue

We are a prison located in Lockhart TX. We rescue dogs from rural area shelters and take them into the prison for training on basic obedience. They are also house trained and crate trained. Training is done by the women inmate handlers. A professional trainer comes to the prison weekly to teach the inmates how to train the dogs. Dogs live at the prison for 2-3 months, in the cells with the inmates, while they are being trained.

All dogs are up to date on their shots, heartworm negative and on preventative, spayed/neutered, microchipped and trained for basic obedience.
