My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Do you like to play? I LOVE to play! I like toys of all kinds, I love to run around and play with other dogs.  I love kids they are great fun!  I'm house trained and crate trained. I got to meet a pet rabbit the other day and he smelled GREAT! Don't worry I just sniffed him a LOT!!

Where are my manners? Let me introduce myself, I'm Coco Puff, I'm a 5 year old Boxer mix.  I act just like my breed says I will. As much as I love to play, I also like curling up on the couch with my Foster mom, she loves it when I want to snuggle. I'm also the best heater you will ever have! if you get cold at night, I'm more than happy to help keep you warm! So if you're looking for some fun and lots of love in your life, I would love to become part of your family.

Coco did have a growth removed off of her abdomen that ended up being a mast cell tumor.

Our veterinary team feels like they got all of it, but it is uncertain if she will have other places pop up as boxers are a breed prone to having mast cell tumors.

Adoption fee: $50 (includes 6% State Sales Tax)

Our pets are fostered in volunteers' homes, not at a shelter facility. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please fill out one of our dog adoption applications ( www.sc4paws.org/forms)  and an adoption counselor will contact you with more details and to schedule a meet and greet. We do adopt out of state. Dogs/puppies are already neutered/spayed, temperament tested, microchipped, current on all vaccines, tested for heartworms and Lyme disease, and treated for internal parasites and flea/tick preventative  prior to adoption. For more info visit our website ( www.sc4paws.org) . PLEASE MAKE A DONATION TO HELP PAY FOR THIS DOG'S FOOD AND VET COSTS

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

A cat or kitten only leaves its foster home ONCE an adoption application has been approved. Each is spayed/neutered and has completed all required vetting per our protocols, prior to going to it's adoptive home.

SCHS vetting for foster cats and kittens includes: spay/neuter, current on shots, FeLuk/FIV test neg. (FeLuk test neg. only for kittens under 5 months of age), Rabies vaccination (cats over 6-months of age), Frontline and/or Revolution treatment, and HomeAgain Microchip. You get all the vet records for your new family member, and a starter bag of food too!

Go meet their pets

All Scott County Humane Society pets are in volunteers' foster homes. We do NOT have an intake facility and are NOT the Scott County Animal Shelter. All animals in our care are from the Scott County Animal Shelter, an open-admission, county-run facility.

We do adoptions through online listings on websites such as this one, as well as most Saturdays from 11am to 5pm at the PetSmart in Lexington at Hamburg-Pavilion! We also do adoptions at the SCHS Center in Georgetown in the Indian Acres Shopping Center.
