My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Casper and Charlie Brown!

These two sweet boys will pull at your heart strings the moment you meet them.
They originally came from a neglectful situation where they were not being fed hay, only occasional grass from outside, and were kept on wire-bottom cages. We have reason to believe they may be blood brothers!
Luckily, these boys were only there for a few months of their lives.

Since Casper and Charlie have been with us (over a year!) They have been learning how to trust people. Casper is more outgoing and will not hide from you. He is an observer, and likes to sit and watch you- waiting for a treat! We like to call Casper “Mr. Lips” because he has the cutest bottom lip.

Charlie is very petite, and much more coy. He prefers to be in his hide, but has improved in the little things like taking treats from your hand, and not running when someone comes up to his enclosure. He has a big heart, and needs someone who will snuggle him and understand his fears.

These boys love treats, veggie time, and botanical hay! They also love little enrichment toys and puzzles!

These boys would do well in a quieter home without lots of loud noises such as barking dogs or kids under 10 years old.

From the foster mom:

“Casper is doing great and is very squeaky and curious about everything. He even likes smelling and greeting our dog. He does not enjoy being picked up, but once held he doesn't mind being handled. He has bonded a lot with my kids, especially my daughter who does the bulk of their care. Charlie Brown is quieter and a bit more shy, but he really doesn't mind being picked up and held. He gives an occasional squeak and is very sweet. Still a little guy, but eating plenty. They always have hay, but like pellets (and squeak for them!) in the morning. They eat their veggies in the evening. They like almost everything. Some favorites would be cilantro and carrots. They didn't like arugula and were OK with bananas and apples. They ate almost anything we gave them!
We really hope they find their home soon, it's been fun caring for them and watching them get more comfortable. They were around a ton of noise and activity and they really blossomed! We wish them all the best!”
