Its a very time for Katie.
This is Katie, and her dad is Kenny. Kenny is a Vietnam War Veteran who lived alone and suffered from PTSD. In 2021, we received several calls from Kenny expressing his desperate need for a companion, a dog. You could hear the urgency in his voice.
In February 2021, Kenny met Katie, and from that day on, they were inseparable. Katie slept with him, ate with him, walked with him on his farm, and they took rides together. Kenny frequently sent us messages and letters thanking us for Katie and sharing how she had changed his life.
Kenny has moving to hospice care. Katie (and another dog we need to learn more about) are alone in the house, being cared for by friend.
We will be getting Katie this weekend and may have to place her in boarding unless we can find a foster or adopter. Im sure Katie is scared and confused. We are also hoping to arrange visits for Katie & Kenny once we get more details from Hospice.
Katie is 5 years old and a little overweight . Our team rescued Katie in Southern Ohio where she was running as a stray. Katie is good with other dogs, house trained, has perfect house behavior (never crated) and the perfect companion for anyone needing a friend.
If you are able to foster or adopt this scared, dearly loved girl, please apply at ricopetrecovery.org.
