Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi! My name is Bootsie. I have been at the shelter for WAY too long searching for the perfect forever family. I recently came back from foster care where I was able to decompress and take a break from the kennel environment. While in foster care, my foster parent said I was a very good boy! Overall, I am pretty good on the leash but can pull when excited. However, with some training and refreshers, I know I can be the perfect walker. My favorite thing to do on walks is sniff, the world has so many smells and I need to sniff them all. I am a great car rider, especially if I can look out a window. I am a mostly quiet dog but have been known to do the occasional whining when in a crate or wanting something. My foster home also described me as friendly, affectionate, and a couch potato! I am housebroken and did not have an accident while in foster care. The staff at the shelter recommends crating me when left alone, however, I may need your help learning how to like my crate. Ask my friends at the shelter how they recommend going about that. I really love snuggles and staying close to my person, I even sound like a pig at times! What is there not to love about me? I would do best in a home with no small children. I am not sure how I would do around other dogs in the home, so if you have resident pups, please bring them to the shelter to meet me! I am available at SPCA Cincinnati for adoption, Foster-to-Adopt, or a Paw Pass Adventure (a hall pass for dogs). To learn more about fostering Bootsie, please email foster@spcacincinnati.org.
